A funeral mass will be celebrated January 27, 2012 at 10am at Holy Redeemer Church, 15712 Kipling Ave., Cleveland for Michael DeBaltzo of Willowick. Mr. DeBaltzo lived in Collinwood for 50 years before moving to Willowick 10 years ago.Born in 1919, Michael passed away January 21. He was 92 years old. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Survivors are his wife of 70 years Cecelia, nee Tomaro; daughters Yvonne (Chet) Nolan and Charlotte (David) Lillash; grandchildren Brian Lillash, Ryan (Jennifer) Nolan, Kristy (Gino) Carcioppolo and Nicole (Matthew) Mastrangelo; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Sam, Angelo, Frank, Tony, Dominic, Joe and John DeBaltzo and Theresa Roso and Josephine Tweedlie. Friends will be received Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Jakubs-Danaher Funeral Home, 36000 Lake Shore Blvd., Eastlake. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Born 7/28/1921 in Sidman PA., Mrs Skrajnar passed away January 15, 2012 in Madison. She had been an Eastlake resident for over 60 years, was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church and enjoyed her bingo and casino bus trips. She was known as "Grahamcracker" by her great grandchildren Marisa, Michael, Dylan and Logan. She retired from Fluid controls in 1983. Survivors are her daughters Connie (Roy, deceased) Steinfurth and Sharon (Gary) Thompson; son Allen (Cindy); grandchildren Kelly, Mark, Dawn Marie, Jennifer, Brian, Michael, Lisa and Kristen; great grandchildren Marisa, Michael, Dylan, Logan, Brayden, Makenzie, Robbie, Jonathon, Courtney, Taylor, Jacob, Brandon, Tabitha, Emily and Cody; sister Thelma Smay and brother Carl Johnson. JOSEPH LLOYD GATEWOOD, age 86. He was born February 16, 1925, in Euclid. He died on December 20, 2011, at Hospice House. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Beulah (nee Bickley). Survived by his loving spouse, of 17 years, Adelina (nee Cruz). Daughter, Josette (Douglas) Grice; Step-children, Dean Haithcox II, Maria (Andrew) Tully, Madelaine Delgado. "Jay" graduated from Euclid High School and went on to earn honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, in 1946, as an Aviation Machinist's Mate, 2nd Class. "Joe" retired after 30+ years from Chase Brass Co; additionally he spearhead-ed his own masonry contracting business for 20+ years. Anyone who came in contact with Jay, immediately knew his interests were many and varied, including studying the Bible, flying and languages. He was an accomplished musician and dancer. His insatiable thirst for knowledge drew us all into lengthy, energetic and engaging conversations. WILLIS "TIP" NICHOLS, age 64, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011. He was born in Elyria, Ohio, on May 27, 1946; to Edith M. and Wallace R. Nichols. He graduated from Elyria High School (1964) and Ohio Wesleyan University (1968). He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Charlotte, his children Douglas (Karen) and Darryl (Carrie), and his grandaughter Evelyn, as well as his brother Wallace (Joan), three nieces and two nephews, and many beloved friends. Mr. Nichols spent two and a half years in the Army as a Chemical Staff Specialist, spent a tour of duty in Viet Nam, and was horonably discharged at the rank of Specialist E-5. After his military servcies he worked for the Lubrizol Corporation in Wickliffe, Ohio, where he was a research chemist for 37 years. During the time of his employment, he earned eight engine-oil-related patents. Tip has been a resident of the Nottingham neighborhood in Cleveland since 1975. Within months of moving in, he became active in the Nottigham Civic Club, which he served as President; Nottingham United Methodist Church: and the Nottingham Youth Center, which he served as Director for over thirty-five years. Under his leadership, the Youth Center has provided Drop-in Recreation, Summer Camp programming, an indoor soccer program, tutoring, and many other activities for countless neighborhood young people. Funeral services for Neil Lynch, age 69, of Eastlake will be held Saturday March 12, 2011 at 10:30am at Bethel Lutheran Church 32410 Willowick Drive, Willowick, OH. Born May 13, 1941 in West Virginia, Neil passed away March 5, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic. He had been an Eastlake resident for 15 years. He was an employee of Sams Club in Oakwood after retiring from his career as a welder. Neil enjoyed four wheeling, making wine, working on cars and being a Mr. fix it. Survivors are his wife Barbara, together 16 years; daughters Michelle Lynch, Jayne Stepp, Jean Pasko, Angela (Tim) Pace and Stephanie Duplago; sons David (Patti) Thomas and Louis Duplago; grandfather of 9; great grandfather of 7; brother Michael (Paige); uncle of many and friend of all he met. Mr. Lynch was preceded in death by his parents James and Geraldine Lynch and siblings Bob and John Lynch and Patty McCauley.

HELEN "BERCH" REESE (nee KEHRIG), age 80. Beloved wife of Richard; loving mother of Richard, Linda Kaluza, Gail (Paul) McGlamery, Wade (Debbie), Scott (Meg) and Todd(deceased) (Tina); devoted grandmother of 8, great grandmother of 7, dear sister, aunt and great aunt of many. She was an avid Bowler and also loved to grow roses. She loved to travel the circuits of fairs in Ohio as a vendor who sold soft pretzels, DiRusso Sausage sandwiches and Birch Beer. She tended bar at Justin I, Justin II and Buster's (all on E. 185 St.), Cabot's (on Lakeshore Blvd.) and U-Bar (Wickliffe). But most of all she cherished the time that she had when she was able to take care of her grandchildren. A memorial Mass was celebrated this week at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick for Shirley R. Stone, age 77 of Eastlake. Mrs. Stone passed away February 14, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. Born January 25, 1934 in Cleveland, Mrs. Stone had been an Eastlake resident for the past 53 years. Shirley was a longtime member of St. Mary Magdalene Church, a member of the Eastside Irish American Club and a league bowler at Wickliffe Lanes. She enjoyed knitting caps for the newborns at Lake Hospitals and was a friend and caregiver to all. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Richard; daughters Debra (Roger) Lingafelter, Sandra (Bob) Lowther and Dawn Stone; sons Mark (Debra) and Greg (Patty) Stone; grandchildren Ashley, Rachel, Noel, Ethan, Brendon, Chad, Cory and Coty and a great granddaughter Hannah. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) Born December 17, 1925, Mr. Schneider passed away January 9, 2011 at his home in Chardon surrounded by his family. An installer and instructor for Ohio Bell, Mr. Schneider retired in 1982 after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, K. of C. Wickliffe Council and Holy Name Society of Divine Word Church. He was a W.W.II Marine Veteran. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors are his wife of 59 years Catherine; daughter Carol O'Brien; grandchildren Catherine (Seth Jewett) Schneider and Michael (Jessica Brooks) O'Brien; sister Rosemary Rowles; daughter in laws Brenda Schneider and Jeanne Ann Talarico and former son in law Kevin O'Brien. He was preceded in death by his son Paul and brothers Clayton Schneider and Jack Mack. Mr. Dunn's greatest concern in life was looking out for and protecting his family.He was an avid reader and enjoyed studying alternative medicine. After fleeing Lithuania and finally settling in Cleveland, Ohio he earned a degree in accounting at Western Reserve University. Distinguished employee of TRW International for 20 years. Founder of Taupa, the Lithuanian Credit Union of Cleveland. Leader of boy-scout troupe 311 for many years and Komendantas of Ausra, Lithuanian Youth Camp. Active member in the Lithuanian community with organizations such as: Lithuanian schools, DIRVA (Lithuanian Newspaper), and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
