Funeral Mass for Thomas J. Horton age 66, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 316 Fifth St., Fairport Harbor (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the JAKUBS-DANAHER, A GOLDEN RULE FUNERAL HOME 36000 Lakeshore Blvd., Eastlake. He was born September 19, 1945 in East Cleveland. He passed away January 27, 2012 at University Hospital. Tom was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, during the Vietnam Conflict and also served as a reservist for the Navy. He graduated from St. Joseph High School class of ‘63; He was a proud graduate of Lakeland Community College earning his Associates Degree. He was an insurance salesman working for John Hancock and Farmers. He was a member of the American Legion Post 336 of Painesville and enjoyed Singing Karaoke. He is survived by Daughter; Carlita (Chris) Skok, Son; Jeffrey Horton, Grandchildren; Nathanael, Spencer, Ethan, Victoria, Aidan, William. Brothers; James (Nancy) Horton, Carl “Chip” (Pam) Horton. Several nieces and nephews, and longtime companion Marilynn Cipan. Interment will be private

A funeral mass will be celebrated January 27, 2012 at 10am at Holy Redeemer Church, 15712 Kipling Ave., Cleveland for Michael DeBaltzo of Willowick. Mr. DeBaltzo lived in Collinwood for 50 years before moving to Willowick 10 years ago.Born in 1919, Michael passed away January 21. He was 92 years old. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Survivors are his wife of 70 years Cecelia, nee Tomaro; daughters Yvonne (Chet) Nolan and Charlotte (David) Lillash; grandchildren Brian Lillash, Ryan (Jennifer) Nolan, Kristy (Gino) Carcioppolo and Nicole (Matthew) Mastrangelo; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Sam, Angelo, Frank, Tony, Dominic, Joe and John DeBaltzo and Theresa Roso and Josephine Tweedlie. Friends will be received Thursday from 4-8 pm at the Jakubs-Danaher Funeral Home, 36000 Lake Shore Blvd., Eastlake. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Born 7/28/1921 in Sidman PA., Mrs Skrajnar passed away January 15, 2012 in Madison. She had been an Eastlake resident for over 60 years, was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church and enjoyed her bingo and casino bus trips. She was known as "Grahamcracker" by her great grandchildren Marisa, Michael, Dylan and Logan. She retired from Fluid controls in 1983. Survivors are her daughters Connie (Roy, deceased) Steinfurth and Sharon (Gary) Thompson; son Allen (Cindy); grandchildren Kelly, Mark, Dawn Marie, Jennifer, Brian, Michael, Lisa and Kristen; great grandchildren Marisa, Michael, Dylan, Logan, Brayden, Makenzie, Robbie, Jonathon, Courtney, Taylor, Jacob, Brandon, Tabitha, Emily and Cody; sister Thelma Smay and brother Carl Johnson. Born November 19, 1945, Jim passed away January 1, 2012. He was 66 years old and a resident of Eastlake for the last 10 years. Prior to Eastlake he lived in Sarasota FL. He worked for 20 years in the quality control department of Bailey Controls. Jim was a Viet Nam Veteran and a member on many local senior groups. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters Emily and Jessica.Survivors are his son Steven (Pam) Ferencie and Granddaughters Emily and Jessica. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Ferencie; brother Bob and his mother Helen. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.

Son of the late Elizabeth and Cyrus Jirousek. Bob was a US Navy veteran of the Korean war, where he earned both a Navy occupation and Korean service medal. JOSEPH LLOYD GATEWOOD, age 86. He was born February 16, 1925, in Euclid. He died on December 20, 2011, at Hospice House. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Beulah (nee Bickley). Survived by his loving spouse, of 17 years, Adelina (nee Cruz). Daughter, Josette (Douglas) Grice; Step-children, Dean Haithcox II, Maria (Andrew) Tully, Madelaine Delgado. Siblings, Kathryn (John) Cole, Robert Gatewood (deceased) and Keith (Constance) Gatewood. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grand-children, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. "Jay" graduated from Euclid High School and went on to earn honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, in 1946, as an Aviation Machinist's Mate, 2nd Class. "Joe" retired after 30+ years from Chase Brass Co; additionally he spearhead-ed his own masonry contracting business for 20+ years. Anyone who came in contact with Jay, immediately knew his interests were many and varied, including studying the Bible, flying and languages. He was an accomplished musician and dancer. His insatiable thirst for knowledge drew us all into lengthy, energetic and engaging conversations. Louis was born Feb. 18, 1957 and passed away Nov. 11, 2011 surrounded by his family at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cleveland. Louis enjoyed swimming and road trips in his car. He worked with his Family at Lucios Restaurant in Mentor and Eastlake until 1996. He then worked as a baker at Giant Eagle, Shorgate until 2011. Louis was a member of the Cleveland Bakers Local Union No. 19 and Teamsters Local No. 507. Survivors are his mother Adeline (Zappola) Drago of Mentor; sister Rosanne Bengough of CA; brothers John Drago, Reter (Colleen) Drago and Ralph Drago, all of Mentor; brother-in-law Benny Bengough of Mentor; Aunts Connie Nicolosi, Rose Zappola and Del Zappola; nieces Louanne (Aric) Alibrio of CT., Rosanne Bengough of CA.and Maria Drago; nephews Peter (Alexa ) of CO., Robert (Jaclyn) Drago and Jonathon Drago; great nieces and nephews Gabriella, Giovanna, Grayson and Gavin Drago, Sebastiano and Salvatore Alibrio. NATALIA BIELINIS Her life that was both deep and rich; and filled with loss. She lived through war and suffered the loss of her beloved Lithuanian homeland to Russian occupation. Until she passed away on her ninety-seventh birthday, Natalia never wavered, always remaining a genuinely decent human being. In Europe, Natalia was a dentist. In America, she lovingly created a warm, wonderful, sunny home for her family. In her back yard garden, she grew beautiful roses - gifts appreciated by friends and visitors. Her home always provided a soothing retreat. Born Nov. 20, 1944, in Charleroi Pa., Gae passed away May 9, 2011, in Willoughby. She had been an Eastlake resident for 38 years. In 2004, she retired after 25 years as a school bus driver for Willoughby-Eastlake Schools. Gae loved her family, especially her grandchildren and made sure that family holiday traditions were passed on to them. She volunteered for the P.T.A. in the Willoughby-Eastlake Schools and she and her husband Cecil spent many happy years at Marriage Encounter. Gae enjoyed watching football on TV and was a Steelers fan. Survivors are her son, Christopher (Laura); daughters, Victoria (Garry) Short, Kathee Hixenbaugh and Mary (Olen) Steelman; and grandchildren, John Hixenbaugh, Amanda, Kayla, Jason and Donnie Short and Olivia Steelman. Mr. Nichols spent two and a half years in the Army as a Chemical Staff Specialist, spent a tour of duty in Viet Nam, and was horonably discharged at the rank of Specialist E-5. After his military servcies he worked for the Lubrizol Corporation in Wickliffe, Ohio, where he was a research chemist for 37 years. During the time of his employment, he earned eight engine-oil-related patents. Tip has been a resident of the Nottingham neighborhood in Cleveland since 1975. Within months of moving in, he became active in the Nottigham Civic Club, which he served as President; Nottingham United Methodist Church: and the Nottingham Youth Center, which he served as Director for over thirty-five years. Under his leadership, the Youth Center has provided Drop-in Recreation, Summer Camp programming, an indoor soccer program, tutoring, and many other activities for countless neighborhood young people. He loved woodworking and was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family. Vytautas A. Staskus age 86 of Rocky River passed away Jan. 4, 2011 Beloved Husband for 61 years of Angele (nee Jurgelaityte). Loving father of Edward (Vanessa), Richard (Sharon) and Rita Zvirblis (Algis). Also devoted Senelis to Wyatt, Katie, and stepgrandchildren Silvija, Paul and Ryan. After fleeing Lithuania and finally settling in Cleveland, Ohio he earned a degree in accounting at Western Reserve University. Distinguished employee of TRW International for 20 years. Founder of Taupa, the Lithuanian Credit Union of Cleveland. Leader of boy-scout troupe 311 for many years and Komendantas of Ausra, Lithuanian Youth Camp. Active member in the Lithuanian community with organizations such as: Lithuanian schools, DIRVA (Lithuanian Newspaper), and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He has survived by his sister Genute Mackevicius and nieces Dalia, Ruta, Zivile and nephew Arvydas. Funeral services will be held at St. Casimir Parish 18022 Neff Rd. Cleveland, OH 44119 on Sat.
